Show-Stopping Florals You Need in Your Garden

With weather warming up, we are getting into summer mode and are more prone to being outside and tending to our yards. With all that you already may be growing this season, flowers make a pleasant addition. Here are some of our picks for the season that will bring you beauty, joy, and a spectrum of mesmerizing color —

01. Bougainvillea

Talk about show-stopper! Bougainvillea takes the crown for color and charm. This vine grows abundantly and loves to climb, so place it adjacent to a fence or trellis and watch it work its magic; it’s unlike anything else we’ve seen! They are fierce and can withstand heat, they grow quickly, and actually produce color year round! If you aren’t interested in them climbing, they do well in containers and it’s beautiful to see them overflow.

02. Dahlias

Dahlias are stunning, delicate, and naturally romantic in its essence. They bring us their beauty mid-summer into early fall, come in many dazzling colors, and grow from anywhere between 2-10 inches wide as they fully bloom! They require moderate climates, meaning nothing too sunny or too cold. However, when grown in the correct conditions, they can be rather hardy and can be grown in containers as well.

03. hydrangeas

Hydrangeas are a timeless floral. They compliment many home styles, from cottage core to contemporary/modern, they fit right in. This flower comes in many shapes and colors, with the most popular and recognizable being the Lacecap and Mophead. They adore moist soil with sunlight that isn’t too harsh and shade that isn’t too… well, shady! They like to be somewhere in between to maximize their growth.

04. lilies

These beauties are known for for being vibrant star-shaped flowers. They are best planted in late summer and need lots of full sunlight in order to deliver their infamous bright blooms. There are many species of Lilies, but here are some popular ones you may know:

05. sunflowers

Sunflowers are a classic beauty. Who doesn’t love them? Sunflowers grow in tall groupings and clusters, which means you will most definitely have to dedicate space specifically for them.
